Top 5 Convertible Day Trips

RelayRides blogger Amanda L. Grossman shares five convertible-worthy day trips from cities across the US.

My friend took her honeymoon in the California wine country, something that has been on my bucket list ever since. But you know what made her trip even more special? She and her new-husband rented a convertible to drive around in! Talk about adding a whole new layer of class to the entire experience.

Convertibles add a level of luxury and adventure to any trip, which got me thinking: wouldn’t it be super special for city-dwellers like myself to rent a convertible and take to the open road for day trips?

Washington D.C. Day Trip: St. Michael’s Maryland

Driving Time: 1 hour 40 minutes

Did you secretly drool over the backdrop to the infamous weekend getaway in the movie Wedding Crashers? Well, the backdrop was St. Michael’s, and it’s under two hours away from D.C. This Eastern Shore town is known for boating, blue crabs, and a “genteel way of life”…and the views you will take in through your convertible are going to be amazing.

You can rent bikes to tour the town at St. Michael’s Marina, chomp on some locally grown produce and artisan cheeses at the Easton Farmers’ market, and even go crabbing!
